A taste of Milk Tea and Sicily

So I ambushed Shobe to have this out-of-the-blue food trip, Since it has been a while since we last bonded (03.17.12 which was Dianne's graduation).

Cheers!!! We finally have it Generals! Milk-tea!!! Welcome Tea-rrific!!! :)
*sigh of relief* Had no idea when they opened, but this is what I know...

Prices are affordable.

Photobucket

Shobe had wintermelon, and I had jasmine.

One of the things I love most about these one-stop milk tea shops is that you can get so many different kinds of the same product, today I got jasmine milk tea, but tomorrow I could get regular green tea. Can I get a Holla at that? Woot-woot! Haha!!!

I have to say, the milk-tea is great. It had just the right amount of sweetness, and
creamy-ness (lol) in a word perfect. While trying to recall the taste, made me want another glass of it, NOW. Hahaha...

Best milk tea I ever had, so far.

Tasting is believing... :))
They're stationed in-front of the movie theater's at KCC Mall of Gensan
...
Unlike ladies who enjoy their tea at 3, as they sit ever so properly on their tea tables, on their porch, overlooking the garden, Shobe and I chugged our milk-tea's as we strolled around the mall.

All of a sudden I wanted some candyyyyyyy!!!

Photobucket
Twizzlers, Gummy bears, Gummy hearts and Gummy raspberries and blackberries.
YUM.
Errm, the twizzlers weren't for me though.
Not the kind of sweet I like.

Having circled the mall, for about 3 times already, cardio? Haha. We skadoodled our way for a late snack, to this new place, I just happen to pass by the other day, Only GoodFellas, just opened last April 18. A big fan of food that I am, especially Italian food, made me want to sink my fangs into their plates...

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse"

Ordered their Mafia Panini and Shobe had their Spaghetti Bolognese. :)

While waiting for our orders, I had a chat with the owner, Vince, he's from Sicily, Italy, also the home of the home of Don Vito Corleone from The Godfather. Vince shared that they're having another movie poster on its way, can you guess? Scarface!!! Also happens to be the inspiration for their interior. ----------------

FYI. They got the name GoodFellas from the 1990's mob movie starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci.

Vince envisioned bringing the Sicilian taste as they are, and not having it compromised to the preferences of some locals (since majority of us Pinoy's like their spaghetti sweet). The spaghetti you'll have here, is nothing different to what they're having at Sicily. He and his wife made sure of that authentic Sicilian flavor to be present on their dishes, as they themselves prepare the spices and sauces.

When you thought...It doesn't get more Italian than this...it just did. YUM.

Photobucket

We divided our orders in half so we both could have a munch out of these mouth watering Italian delicacies.

I am no way near a legit food critic but I have to say, the Spaghetti Bolognese is divine. The sauce were super soft and fine that they blended well amongst the meat. What I loved most about it is it tasted fresh. Gah, I could still taste it now, mmmm....*drool*

Photobucket

Delizioso! Their Mafia Panini has to be my new favorite, will definitely have MORE, must have more!!!
It has the right blend of spicy and just the right amount of hot, the flavor just explode in your mouth.
*super drooool*

Photobucket

Craving something different? Out of the ordinary? Something new and legit? Then you know what to do...

Only GoodFellas is located at...
J&G Propriedad Bldg., Nunez Street, Purok Malakas, San Isidro,
General Santos City

I'm finishing off with my favorite quote from The Godfather;
Food for thought

Don Corleone: I have a sentimental weakness for my children and I spoil them, as you can see.
They talk when they should listen.

The Band is With Me

Photobucket

Music has always been there for me, its one of the strongest foundations of my life, one of the few things in this universe that keep me sane.

Was brought into this world, (as I mentioned before on a previous blog post)
to ACDC's - Thunderstruck, my father made sure that I would have a kick-ass entrance song, as he said it would have somewhat an artistic effect on me as I grow up.

I grew up hearing him listen to KISS, Iron Maden, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, and a lot more. (Believe me when I say a lot, he has a cabinet full of tapes, that are waaaaay older than me, cassette tapes from waaay back when he was still in high school).

Photobucket
Cheers to my Dad for being awesome,
for being a great Dad and for sharing all his music know-how to me.
Blessed be.

I only wear stuff that I'm comfortable in, and over sized band shirts are on the top of my list.
They never go out of style. You can wear them as dresses, crop, fringe, and tear them even.
I love wearing them, they make me feel so badass.

Have set myself to a never ending mission to collect shirts from all my favorite bands.

Still, I got my heart is broken, as through the years, I've lost some of my shirts, some people borrowed them and never gave them back, some I can't find in my closet, and some grew small on me. :(

Photobucket
In memory of my Chicosci, Saydie, Linkin Park and Flyleaf shirts. :(

Photobucket
The shirts that I have now are only
Aeroforce one(Aerosmith), Paramore and
that KISS shirt I'm wearing (hand me down from my Dad)

Nevertheless I'm still hopeful that I'll have them all someday. If anybody knows anybody who sells band shirts here in the Phil please, do contact me.

Band tees I want in my closet:

And many many more... :))

Here are some of my favorite celebs rock'n their band tees...

We have the ladies...

Superheros and Bullies

WHAT I WORE
Top: Bauhaus
Shorts: Thrited
Sunnies: Police
Shoes: Converse

Yesterday me and my brother Jet, watched The Avengers, we woke up early so that we could catch the first screening at 11:00am, Robinson's. How long have I been waiting for THIS, remembered that after watching the credits roll on Iron man 2, wherein they found Thor's hammer, I was beyond excited. I even ranted about Chris Evans being Captain America, I mean, you can't be two superheros... you just can't!!!He's already the Human Torch on Fantastic 4. I was disappointed because among these intoxicating men...

I wanted Jensen Ackles to be the Capt. I still can't get the image of him in the suit, out of my brain... RAWR.

Despite this casting delima of mine, the movie turned out great. Still would have been better is Jensen starred on it. Haha. Sorry, the Supernatural fan girl in me just wouldn't STFU.
The Avengers was undoubtedly...

Got the same feeling when I was watching Space Jam as a 6 year old and Alien v.s Predator when I was 14.

Nobody likes a spoiler. Just my thoughts on he film. I swear no spoilers here.

  • Action sequences, as expected, were EPIC, it made me reenact some of the moves in front of the mirror. Looking like a complete loon. But you guys have to admit, we all do it, especially after watching an action packed movie. Hahaha
  • Cinematography, awesome. I felt like I was going through a comic book.Killer soundtrack, the music scores were great, I can't even count how many times I had goosebumps. Tony Stark has definitely has good taste in music. Don't wanna spoil that part, I just had to mention it. Was so psyched when Shoot to Thrill, the ACDC cover by Theory of a Deadman played. I was like...woah O_O The bands on the soundtrack include the Black Veil Brides, Five Finger Death, Rise Against, Papa Roach, Evanescence, and my new favorite band Cherri Bomb, I've just heard about this band a few months back,FYI the average of their age is 13, they play their own instruments, and they're already touring, awww... They're living the dream I had when I was 13... T_T
  • Structure, no dull, hey-I'd-like-to-check-and-see-the-time kind of moments. In a word, exciting. Unpredictable. The plot was great, the right amount of rise and fall, wherein they still gave us time to catch our breath.
  • Casting, you already know my take on the Capt. aside from that this went on-and-on inside my brain...So actress Cobie Smulders played S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill...

for me you will always be Robin Sparkles Scherbatsky.
PERIOD.

Robert Downey Jr. I award him for Badass of the year. I just adore him. *hearts*

  • Screenplay, the short, witty/funny/clever one liners, I loved, most of them came from Tony Stark, who else. *hearts* All in all the screenplay was purr--fect. I have to admit I was expecting Samuel Jackson (Nick Furry) To say "motha-----" Hahahaha!!!
I'm having second thoughts on my dream to move to New York, especially in Manhattan, I mean Godzilla, the Decepticons, Kingkong, and now Loki's alien army...those villains love the big city!

Anywho, all in all, Best Marvel movie EVER, so far. They really pushed the bar high, where it left me to wonder, can they top it off with their sequel? In the future? Dan-dan-daaaan.I know Marvel wouldn't let its army of fans down.

<span class=
I'm too old for Barbies anyway.
Not all superheroes have super powers, for instance Hawk Eye and Black Widow, they just happen to have extraordinary skills, and everyone has that extraordinary power in them that only they posses, which makes them different compared to everyone else, this week is Anti-Bullying week, as the internet made our lives easier, to some it made their lives worse, Cyber bullying was the villains name.

Anonymous as his sidekick, they make peoples lives a living hell. The villain doesn't have a weakness, just like any other kind of bully, we can't beat them by force, we have to let our super powers out, non violent resistance as to what Ghandi said are our weapons against to those evil forces.

Just ignore them and let them be, surround yourself with people who matter, people who love and care for you, people who trust you, and give it time, those bullies will be history.

To those bullies out there, let me remind you that just recently, The House of Congress just passed House Bill 5496 or Anti-Bullying Act of 2012. Too bad college students, this only applies to students on grade school and highschool only. :(

Bullying meaning, any severe or repeated use of written, verbal, or electronic expression, or a physical act or gesture, or any combination of these by one or more students directed at another student that has the effect of actually causing or placing the latter in a reasonable fear of physical or emotional harm or damage to the property, creating a hostile environment at school and Infringing on the rights of the other students at school.

Recognizing this issue because (its Anti-Bulling week and) my younger brother told me about the bullies on his school (also my Alma mater, also brought back bad bullying memories). No one messes with my not-so-little brother, but me. I love how he handles the situation, he just tells them to back off, and that he doesn't want to hurt them (he could take them all out, he's 6'2'' for g's sake). And that nothing good will ever come on what they're doing. Yey!My bro's a superhero! :)

What he did reminded me of what Aidx once said,

"We have to be our own superhero."
...

Hope you have a bully-free summer. :)

P.S To those who plan to watch The Avengers, do stay after the credits, there is a preview of the sequel, Avengers 2, rumor has it that they will add new characters to the Avengers, bring out the comic books loves, better start guessing. Lastly not a rumor, but a fact, the second round of standalone character films are on their way. (Ironman 3, Captain America 2 and Thor 2)
Are you excited?
I KNOW I AM!!!

DINOSAURS ALIVE at Bigshot

Photobucket

with the family, being a 90's kid that I am, was born into
the Dinosaur generation, growing up and watching Jurassic Park,
Godzilla and Land Before Time,
I've always had this fascination for these creatures, I even cried after watching
the Godzilla's babies go BOOM! (On the movie)
I really dragged the whole family into seeing the exhibit.
You're never to old to enjoy robotic Dinosaurs on display.

Photobucket

Dinasaurs Alive is a $3.5 million educative and fun-filled exhibition featuring robotic dinosaurs, where visitors wonder through a forest setting along the 165 million year journey of the Dinosaurs.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Life-like dinosaurs in front of me, breathing, moving, awesome, the Apatosaurus was huuggeee, was trying to contain my erge to climb on top of its head and slide down to its tail and scream "YABA-DABA-DOOO!!!!"

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Heart starting to beat faster, flashbacks of watching Jurassic Park as a child and having the chills...

Photobucket

And I swear I was THAT close in peeing my shorts after seeing and hearing the T-rex, I felt fear and excitement mixed together in a twisted emotion.

Photobucket

and I just realized...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Gensan is the 7th city the exhibit has visited ,
(in the Philippines cuz, they've already been rawr-ing allover the world)
after Gensan they will be heading to Davao, Tagum, Baguio and Albay (in that order)

It was fun, so if you live anywhere near these cities, better watch out, ze Dinosaurs are coming!!!

Check out their official site

After the exhibit, had lunch with the family, then coffee date with the bf *hearts*, then church with the family, twas the feast of The Divine Mercy, joined the procession. *insert halo*

HELL WEEK AT F.I.D.A

This might be a shocker for those who see our school as a laid-back-easy-breezy-we-just-sit-around-and-do-a-bit-of-reading-and-hard-labor kindda school. Yes, we have our hell week as well, projects and delayed activities piling here and there for all the slacker students to ENJOY, including yours truly. HAHA.
Everything has to be done by Saturday.
Slept around 4am almost everyday, spent it hand stitching and beading my
Philipp Tampus inspired gown, for our advanced draping class.
I got through it with energy drinks and a Dexter DVD marathon.
At school, the smell of coffee, the students itching to GTFO and finish so they could have that sweet first of summer taste.

INSIDE THE FACTORY

After another day of nonstop sewing and everything school related.
After class, Aidx picked me up at school to start preping up for our online store...

The Factory

Our shared interest in DIY-TWISTED-GRUNGY-OUT-OF-THE-NORM fashion
was the core foundation of the store.

We started by preparing the photos for our online catalog, then we scadoodled off to Starbucks on the newly opened SM ANNEX, to upload and manage the store on its debut.

Here are some of my favorite pieces from our first collection...

ODE TO EDIE

Took my written and hands-on exam on pattern making, *whew*, blessed be,
I did good, so I think I did.

After the exam off to my favorite model lovie Rush Lelis's house for a shoot, I wanted to give a legit rep for my advanced draping project, because one can't appreciate its true form and beauty only by hanging on a headless, legless, and arm-less body form. So I figured in order to bring justice to the gown that I hand stitched, what better way than to have a shoot for it!

Lovie Rushie, as always, is a darling to shoot, she definitely knows how to work it.

Here are some of the photos... :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Not bad for a hand sewn gown aye? :)
Thanks again to Rushie my love for being an awesome friend/mowdel. :))
*hears*

...

Went back to school to finish some more sewing.
Then back to my dorm with Aidx, for the finishing touches of the detachable collars that we're selling.

HAND MADE. ONE OF A KIND. LIMITED.
Photobucket

YOU CAN BUY THEM HERE.

After settling everything online shop related, stressed out,and still no sufficient amount of sleep, and super hungry we still headed off and had dinner at Backyard Burger and satisfied our grumbling stomachs.

YUM.

...

As I got back to my dorm room, I read my favorite parts from the book Edie; Girl on Fire, and watched both Poor Little Rich Girl and, Factory Girl, while doing the finishing touches to my school projects.

She would have been 69 years old, if she's still alive today. :(

I don't know why I find Edie's life, even tho is short and tragic, I still find it beautiful and inspiring.
I'm twisted like that.

No, maybe, it gives me that Live Fast, Die Young kinda vibe.
Ya, that's definitely it.

Edie, we'll send cigs, speed and drinks...as gifts.
If ever there's a way we could!!! :'(

We will forever love you Edie!!!

Drive me away cuz the nigh just feels right
